Wild west rides every SundayExplore the clean refreshing countryside of the national park. Sit back and enjoy the view from one of our well-sprung carriages or ride one of our surefooted horses or ponies. You’re also welcome to come over with your own horse if you live close by. Every Sunday morning we set off from the New Forest Lodge stables and ride out into the national park. We leave late morning and usually arrange our route to pass by a comfortable county tasca to have a little light refreshment. The party returns to the Lodge by late afternoon and we are welcomed with a mouth-watering feast, served according to the weather either in the log fired dining hall or we dine al fresco at the terrace. Your dinner will be served with some excellent local wines and the desserts will be the breaking of your horse's back next week. We plan to leave the stables around 11:30 AM but if you prefer to ride a saddle horse we suggest you arrive around 10:30 to give time to get to know your horse in the corral. We hope to return about 4:00 PM and dinner will be served about after an hour after we return. Guest who do not wish to ride or drive may join us for dinner only. There are plenty of sheltered shady corners to sit and admire the view and watch the horses and you're welcome to wander amongst our forests where you'll see a great variety of bird life and small animals.
